Why can't I use UA miles for a US flight when US shows availablity?
Im trying to help my cousin book an award flight from GIG-CLT later this year. I did all the research online last week, and found the US Airways flights between GIG and CLT to have great award inventory in late December
Prior to transferring miles to ANA (last Sunday), the routes were WIDE OPEN (multiple business class seats on each flight from GIG-CLT) on US Airways.
I just did an award search on United.com, and it's not even showing that flight GIG-CLT as a routing option (neither saver or standard awards). It's as if the flight doesn't exist in the system.
We called ANA and they said there is no award inventory.
I scanned through the recent posts in thread, but couldn't find anything about partner award inventory being restricted (within the last week). I find it very hard to believe that every single seat dried up (i was searching for 4 seats just to see how many were available, and many days had those direct routing options)
Anyone have insight into the issue I'm having (not seeing any direct flight option, be it standard or saver for the rout of GIG-CLT in December on US Airways)?
Any thoughts/help would be appreciated.
