#1 Convertibles are not good for carrying luggage, no trunk space with the top down, if that's a factor for you.

It's hard to predict the weather in November but it can get chilly and cold, especially by the coastal areas.

Consider the price difference of the rental. How much actual driving are you going to be doing to enjoy the top down? Are you talking about a nice long drive up the coast where it might actually be enjoyable in good weather or are you going to spend time driving around on the freeways to get to sights and sitting in traffic like the typical Angeleno?

I'll be honest, after living in LA and now PHX, anytime I see a convertible with the top down, depending on the make and model, I instantly think tourist.
