In changing the plans, we now arrive in AMS at 6:00 am on a Tuesday morning and leave Wednesday afternoon, heading to CDG for a week. At first, I made a reservation at the AMS FS, since it is such a nice hotel. Later, I changed to the Ren because it is so close to Central Station, making it easy to get in and out of the city. I've taken the bus to the FS and know it's inexpensive and easy, but the train is much faster and we have such a limited amount of time in AMS.

Now, I've read recent posts in this thread and am second guessing the switch to the FS. Opinions? Should we switch back to the FS, or am I overanalyzing this?

Also, my plan is to do a canal tour, the Anne Frank House, the purse museum (a friend told them about it), Van Gogh and Dutch Masters. Is there any other must-do that we should try to squeeze in?
For what it's worth I would stay at the "Marriott" rather than the other "brands" The 197 bus us cheap, fast and comfortable. Drops you off right across the street/bridge. Getting in at that time you will be able if your reservation allows it access to the Executive Lounge on the first floor, really great offering. Food is tasty and plenty variety.

Directly across the street is the Hop on/off tour boat!

Enjoy
