Does anyone know if you can take multiple suit carriers as "one" piece of hand luggage?

I flew out with a rucksack style laptop bag, and one suit carrier (moderately full). After a trip to the tailors while here, I now have two fairly full suit carriers... I'm wondering if I'll be ok with two suit carriers + laptop bag, or if I should ask the hotel to borrow some gaffer tape to "join" the two together so they more obviously represent just the one item. Anyone had any experiences if anything similar?
