Talking Trip Report March 16-23

Let start by saying that I book my week thru Booking.com which had the kids free of charge.
Since the Hilton.com website clearly stated an extra charge of 49 per kid per day I took a chance and hope for the points.

After a couple of phone calls I confirm with the hotel that the kids were free and no charge upon arrival, to top it off they were kind enough to put my hilton honnors number and I got the points.

Plus I got and awesome upgrade to the new building room 403 which was hugeeeeee. could not be happier since he had our son and his friend with us , So there were 2 queen beds and 1 sofa bed and the balcony to die for with jacuzzi.

I had low expectations since I do not like going to Mexico, but I was really surprise and glad we decide to go to the Hilton Puerto Vallarta.

As someone else said, the hotel is small compare to other humongous resorts, But what lacks on size give back on service.

The staff was nothing less than spectacular for the whole week

Mauricio on the front taking care of the Bell boys was super funny and so there to help since our luggage did not arrive with us, at the end of our trip they even gave us a ride to the airport for free.

The Journey ambassador Diana and Demis were amazing to help with reservations and information Diana was so so so sweet that everytime I spoke with her I thought I was going to have a Diabetes attack.

On the pool Sergio a short guy with a baseball cup was passing around making sure you had a drink on your hand, and on his days off someone else which I could no remember his name did the same.

Service at the restaurants was good not supper fast but it was genuine and good.

If I had to complain a bit, was about getting a semi decent cup of coffee or a cap, anyway no problem I can live with good coffee for a week.

The food quality is ok , Is impossible to expect 5 star quality on a All Inclusive they have to save some money so no top notch cuisine on the Buffett.

We did try 3 of the restaurants

The Fogo (Brazilian)was nice on our fist day, right beside the Ocean nice breeze and the food was good, only a couple of problem when some of the serve sausages were not cook properly , but no big deal just tell then to pick it up and ask for another sword with meat.

The Catrina (Mexican), It was good , more gourmet mexican cuisine , actually my wife and her friend that came to visit are chefs so they say it was ok. The place have potential so hopefully they will put some decoration and make it feel more Mexican.

The French, Well as someone already posted .... not that good, but if you go to Mexico.... What the heck are you doing on a French Restaurant anyway.

I personally like the place been small enough that I only had to move my head up and right or left to see where my kid was.

the beach was good enough , but not calm enough that I did not have to be beside my son and friend just to make sure they will not drown.

But was calm enough in the morning to use the kayaks from the hotel.

Something VERY important, after talking to many of the staff at the hotel I find out that the money that they make per day is close to 1 us a day.
So tips are very important, I took the time to tip every single person that deal with us, i do not mean everytime they came or did or give something unless was room service.
But before I left I made sure I hit everyone we had deal with, for the info I got from differents members of the staff all the hotels are the same about pay, so is not just the Hilton but everyone.
