The clamshell issue is significant. You have to unpack at least the top half. On a luggage stand it sticks out from the wall more than other cases, to allow room for the top to open.
Lastly, they are NOT indestructible. I have a 26" Limbo w/ metal frame and corners and polycarbonate sides. Seemed to me it would be the most durable. After a few flights the airlines bent the frame so now the waterproof seal is lost. Not sure if it can be fixed but still usable. The metal corners look like hell. Also two broken latch/locks b/c the TSA couldn't figure out how to open them (they were unlocked). Warranty replacement locks were free and shipped right away.
It looks beat up and worn but still using it after 200K miles. For some reason I am attached to it, but would not buy another. Maybe an all polycarbonate one.
Not happy to hear this. I just got a 29 inch Limbo.
