A friend snapped these earlier this week on the first shuttle flight of the morning to GLA, from LHR.
Meet Ewan, who was racking up some serious Avios points with his owner. He wasn't just doing the domestic. He'd already flown Melbourne - Sydney - Singapore - London in the previous 30 hours:
And while other people were complaining of an early start and fighting for luggage space, Ewan apparently sat there quietly enjoying the fuss being made of him. People quickly forgot their troubles and he settled down to rest his weary head on the foot of a passenger.
Makes you wonder whether dogs suffer from jet lag?
Now as an aside, what's the protocall when travelling with a canine companion. Can you book a doggy meal (after all, BA frequently serve
dodgy meals), or is it a case of Bring Your Own? Do they get in-seat dining, or do they have to eat in the Galley?
And what happens when Ewan (or one of his four-legged friends) needs a comfort break on a long flight? Are guide dogs trained to 'hold it in'...? Even on long-haul???
One thing's for sure, guide dogs do an AMAZING job. I never fail to be anything but massively impressed when I see one at work. ^
