Travel is not a privilege, it is a right, and one that has been infringed upon too many times by paranoid airline employees and those that elevate customer service issues into "security threats".
Sorry that I have not followed this entire thread, but I totally disagree with this unless the pilot or fo personally went back to talk with the offending passengers and fa's.
A pilot is not going to leave the cockpit while in flight to investigate a customer service issue or other disturbance.
