I guess people just don't think it's that interesting when pax poorly plan their travel and end up screwed through their own fault but still put all the blame on United.

I don't really see a way to avoid bad pr like this - pax books unsafe itin, gets burned, blames UA. Could happen on any airline in the world to any pax.
