That, to me, implies that someone (though not necessarily the parents involved) attempted to fold up the monitor independently. Wonder if that was the act which ultimately led to the diversion.
I actually meant to comment on that but did not recall which page it was on. The drop down monitors can be forced shut, although it is at the risk of breaking the plastic gears.
