My UA pilot buddy heard the passenger was attempting to force the monitor to close or was somehow trying to obstruct it. That wasn't in the original story. If that is true, that is surely in violation of federal law and the captain did the right thing by getting them off of the airplane.
If so, the Captain should have instructed the purser to turn off the video so that all monitors closed, radioed ahead for LEOs to meet the parents at the gate in BWI, and proceeded onward to BWI without a diversion.
And if this did happen, why weren't the parents arrested in ORD?
