For the money you are going to spend on Rimowa, I would recommend a Briggs & Riley instead, for the unconditional lifetime warranty (even covers airline damage).
If you like the look of Rimowa you'll probably dig the new
B&R Torq line which will be released next month.
Also, you are switching from soft-sided to hard-sided. Be aware that clam shell suitcases aren't as easy to open and live out of for a week. See
these pictures for an explanation. Basically they are great if you unpack your suitcase all the time. If you want to leave it packed and just put it on the luggage rack and live out of it, clam shell cases are a pain in the neck. The B&R Torq solves this problem with an 80/20 lid that you can use like a softside.
