But the layout is pretty much the same "pod"/reverse herringbone style, and it struck me how similar they were when I sat in 2A on a CX 747, the same seat I sat on in a UA 747...
Having flown both multiple times, other than they are both seats, there is no real comparison.
The CX suite is significantly larger (6 on the 777s in 1-1-1 vs. 8 for UA in 1-2-1; 9 on the 744 vs. 12 for UA) and far more private and comfortable.
While there are only a small number of airline seat manufacturers out there, and while they may have come from the same company, they are a completely different design.
