I think what they do with the 787's will be very interesting. As opposed to the 747-400's which are not the most economical but are still OK the 767's are now just so old and outdated that I cannot imagine BA wants them in service any longer than they really need. The overhead bins are not suitable for modern travel, the latest seats cannot be installed and in fact the 767's were due to be out of service long ago - it is just the 787 delays that have meant BA has had to keep them going. The latest refresh was forced on BA as they are going to be around for a bit longer. Whereas I think that the A380's and 777-300's on delivery later this year will be used to expand the L/H offering I think that it might even be a 1 for 1 replacement for the 787 and 767....

What do others think?

It appears that the initial aircraft at least will directly replace 767s on North American services. There are some interesting indications based on flight times, for example BA264 from IAD dropping from 7:30 to 7 hours from the start of the winter timetable, slightly quicker than the 777 services even though it is still advertised as a 767 at present.
