Not only do you not have to lug your bags onto and off of the shuttle, but you also can kill 15 minutes you'd otherwise be spending standing around the baggage claim waiting for your bags. Or the shuttle.
I agree, this is how I do it (or walk as the other poster said). The bags have usually just finished coming up about the time I get back to baggage claim saving me 15-20 minutes.
