Not only do you not have to lug your bags onto and off of the shuttle, but you also can kill 15 minutes you'd otherwise be spending standing around the baggage claim waiting for your bags. Or the shuttle.
This is the best method. The terminal link vans are definitely the one experience I can do without at DFW... routing that can take a while to get to your stop, etc. Fortunately I don't check bags 99.9% of the time...

I believe that one hour parking at each terminal is on the arrivals level; follow signs to arrivals and enter the garage from the upper level. The whole front row should be 1 hour parking and valet.
