And besides the airstairs - which are a rare occurrence on most airlines with widebody flights (except Jet, where they're the norm), I can't think of a single situation where the airport is too much for even a very severely disabled person to not easily be able to navigate on their own steam. The mosquitoes (welcome to the tropics) and the damp and the dinginess are one thing. But physically, BOM is relatively tiny, with no long walks through endless passages and no need to climb a single step anywhere, let alone entire flights of staircases.
LUFTHANSA and all other airlines were parked away from the aerobridges, I flew LH.
Aero bridges are limited at Bombay and distributed by a quota system per airline. At night when most international airlines fly, all wide bodies get the aero bridge however, there are 2-3 airlines which don't get it every night which is distributed equally ( or not so equally) amongst the airlines. Since Lufthansa has 2 flights a night around the same time they tend to be parked away more often than not. Jet, air India, and indigo get their narrow bodies parked at aero bridge only at off peak times or short connection time flights, for eg. Ai 985 amd Bom mct. Also in case of delays by a particular airline to not be ready in time due any reason the subsequent airline ends up waiting after landing. Or ends up at a remote stand.

All in all the international apron between 11 pm to 2 am is a mess.
