Was a little nervous flying AZ, and this issue didn't help, but I agree the seat design looks great and the food/wine is supposed to be a notch above Delta. My only TATL J experiences are Delta recliner seats and one round-trip on the new lie-flat on US Airways, which was miles ahead, but mixed reviews on the food.
Food is great and the seats are great. You'll have a fantastic trip.
The only other issue to watch out for on Alitalia Biz is the problem with getting MQM/SM credit. But since you're on an award ticket, there's no issue there.
If you ever find yourself paying for an AZ biz class, make sure you get an itinerary which shows your booking class because your boarding pass will show F, which DL doesn't recognize. The best way to do that is by having DL book your ticket for you.
