The only issue with the once a day flight or less model, is if the flight is canceled because of aircraft maintenance.

I once booked Spirit from Chicago to Atlantic City and Spirit canceled my flight, refunded me, but I had to fly the next day. What I disliked was that my original fare was a bargain deal, but the new fare wasn't.
