Today, for example, UA published a $140 a/i o/w G fare, good through October, that works on TUES/WED JFK-LAX ps flights.
You're right: the Chase "get two tickets for one zone price" is not always a good deal. In this particular case, my dates are not flexible (trade show) and, at this point, purchasing one ticket is a touch higher than the Chase zone price. Nothing in T bucket for the outbound (Sat 8/17) but, as others have said, T could open up later.
