Got award tickets to fly in J on Alitalia by redeeming some Delta Skymiles. I called Delta for the PNR used by AZ, and then called AZ so they could assign us seats. I've called 3 times and each time the rep tells me the system can't assign seats on our reservation due to an issue with the way Delta ticketed the reservation. I've called Delta, told them this and they say there is no issue with the ticketing they see and I must call AZ to assign seats. Round and round we go...

I know there have been issues getting seats assigned on AZ planes through Delta award bookings before (since you can't view the reservation on AZ's website), but usually the solution is just to call AZ and they can do it over the phone. In my case that doesn't seem possible. Anyone have any advice other than just hoping for the best when we get to the airport? We'd really like to sit together and the seat AZ seat map is only showing a few remaining seats that are together.
