What does that mean, exactly? Won't we both be able to check in on line and print out our boarding passes before arrival at the airport?
That is old language from the T&C that has never (inexplicably) been removed.

You make your reservation online or on the phone. Your qualification is determined at that point. If you are asked for your card, please post back as you will be the first in a 'coon's age to have that happen.

You can both check in online as well and print your hoarding passes. (Unless you have special circumstances, NFL, UM, COS, and other alphabet soup of reasons. If you do not know the acronym, you probably are not affected.)

As for riding together, the boarding systems checks that both of you checked in at the Jetway. If not, then it will be caught.
