Never had an issue either; I always fly with my tri-fold suit bag, which on my last few flights has ended up thicker then my carry-on roller (2 suits + 5 shirts).

Now, Saturday will be my first time flying on Luftansa back, so I'm a little worried given their policy of a single carry-on per person in economy….
