You are only allowed one piece of baggage at 23kg. Extra piece will be as Kenneth Chong said. But your bags will be checked thru to JKT without problem and no additional as the normal allowance for CX on transpacific flights are 2 pieces anyway. And if you are delayed, CX will reaccomodate you as you are on one ticket.

You will also be allowed to check two pieces on the return. However, AC will charge you the extra piece when you pick up your boarding pass at the transit point.
Thanks for the replies folks.

I would definitely like to book on CX on all flights but being a cheap student, the $300 difference does make a great difference.

Guy Betsy,

Is there a way to double check on the joint fares part? I don't mind taking your word for it but I just want to make sure that these are indeed on one ticket. Wouldn't want to screw myself if i indeed miss the connection.

I actually called travelocity and according to them, i would not need to worry about the transiting with my luggage etc. He also mentioned that if the fare is available on their site, it means that the connection time is totally accounted for. But as I am a paranoid student, I just want to make sure.

Thanks again for your kind replies.
