Presuming you have a box that is about 54"x8"x28" (typically size of a bicycle box) and the bicycle and packaging weight 35 pounds, it costs $38.21 for FedEx ground to ship from 85003 (PHX) to 90045 (LAX). (Smaller box or lighter packing, will reduce the cost.)


They estimate 2 days transit for ground and will hold it up to 5 business days at the location.

The expensive part will be the box, which I think you'll need anyway.

You can also try someplace like - http://www.bikeflights.com/ I've never used them, but they have come up several times on a couple of cycling boards I read. They are quoting $30 for the same shipping.

In both case, I did not add any extra insurance.
