I'll soon be in the USA in the middle of a DONE4, visiting some friends in Phoenix.

Due to a roundabout set of circumstances (used to live there), I have a bicycle already in PHX I need to get back home to Australia. However, in between leaving PHX and arriving back in Oz, we're going via Rapid City & Keystone because I want to have a look at Mt Rushmore. So the relevant flights are PHX-DFW-RAP-DFW-LAX-BNE.

From what I can see, AA is going to try and sting me $$$$ for each leg with the bike, thus making it uneconomical to bring it home. QANTAS, once I get to LAX, won't.

So, can anyone throw some options out there to get the bike straight from PHX to LAX ?
