EL AL Employees Send Protest Food Packages to Mgt

According to the "Globes" article, the EL AL workers committee sent senior management and Board members food packages containing staple items as a symbolic protest of the high salaries they earn. The committee also boycotted the traditional pre Passover toast.

The article can be found here:

My Note: As a service oriented company, EL AL needs to ensure workers and other front line service staff feel appreciated and have a vested stake in the airline. Doing so would translate into higher levels of customer service. At this point, it appears the workers are demoralized as a result of persistent layoffs, cutting of salaries and benefits, and company financial losses amid management's persistent enjoyment of relatively high salaries and perks.

I understand the dire financial situation of EL AL very well and if I were in charge I would not only reduce the actual number of managers, but also cut all managerial salaries and perks by a substantial percentage (at least 25%). I would also introduce a profit sharing and bonus scheme with employees. The above would show the employees that they are not alone in enduring cost/benefit cutting and encourage them to provide high levels of customer service so that once EL AL becomes profitable again (and it will be profitable again if my business plan is enacted in its entirety) they could partake in the reward.

EL AL's management and Board need to PARTNER with the employees during this difficult fiscal period rather than segregate themselves with higher pay, perks, and insolence towards their subordinates.
