US citizen going to Rio in August. I have a hotel in Rio but intend to spend a second week in the country. Should I apply for my visa now or wait until I have a better idea of where I will be the second week? In other words, should I wait until I have a firmer idea of my itinerary? I am on the east coast, a 3.5 hour train ride from NYC and while I could apply in person, it would difficult for me to return two or three days later to pick up the completed visa. Will there be a problem if I do not stick to my original itinerary?

Gee, maybe I should have posted this in the "all questions thread?"
