Just booked a "special" ( TXL-JFK-SAN-LAX-AMS-TXL ) for around $ 500 all in and that was in booked "V". Haven't seen an "E" fare here in Germany yet. So yes, X/V are the super duper low Eco fares replacing "T" on the lowest available fares & specials.
