It's been a while since I've booked a sleeper, but if I recall the car/room assignment was also shown online with my reservation. It might be a bit cryptic, but look for something like 1130/14, where 11 is the train, 30 is the car number, and 14 is the room.

Otherwise, a call to Amtrak should get you what you want.
