The mice with hantavirus were a problem with the insulated tents where they nested in the walls. The tent you will be in will uninsulated and more than likely you will have a communal bath. Mice can still be an issue. As some who has slept in the dirt more times than not in Yosemite (including a few nights on a wall) I find Curry Village as well as Housekeeping camp to be abhorrent. (FT will not permit the actual language that I would prefer to use). That said both should be burned to the ground. But then again I am jaded.
If you are not a regular camper I would suggest that with a 10 month old to find lodging outside of the park and do a couple of day trips in. Yes, it is a PITA but then you will be motivated to see other parts of the Park like Glacier Point, Mariposa Grove, and Tuolumne Meadows (the road will probably be open). The valley is really good for a day as it is, unless you are hiking. If you arrive into the Valley Sunday morning brunch at the Ahwahnee can be fun.
