But then he checked my account and said my passport was on file already. So he credited my account right then and there.
I have a similar problem. I joined M&S, made sure my number was in the booking, checked again when checking in for each one of four flights, zero miles credited. Tried the online retrocredit form, would not accept my claim due to a "name mismatch". My booking has my middle name abbreviated, so that's undoubtedly the problem (no other frequent flyer programs I am member of have any issue with that). I completed the online feedback form, attached copies of my boarding card stubs, my ticket and my passport, and got the following e-mail response:

"You have 0 miles in your TKxxxxxxxxxxx Classic membership account. You can claim your missing flights via https://www4.thy.com/tkmiles/login.tk?lang=en link with your membership ID and PIN Code. (Yep, tried that) If your MilesSmiles card number is provided while making your reservation (it was) and at check-in (it also was), miles will be credited automatically to your account within two days following your flight. (Nope!)"

Obviously going around in circles here.

So, before going to the expense of a cell phone call to Turkey: what are my chances of getting a knowlegeable, English speaking agent who can deal with this quickly and efficiently?

I normally can't be bothered wasting my time on incompetent bureaucratic crap like this, but with J longhauls the miles do add up.
