Refer to TerryK's post! Looks like that is the way they calculate it. Think about it, if in theory you did a RTW ticket all on SQ. First ticket you bought had 8 segments. Second ticket you bought had 14 segments. And the first 4 segments of each ticket were exactly the same, there is no way you will get the same PPS$ associated with the first 4 segments because in the second ticket you have so many more remaining segments.
I.e. In the end both tickets should end up with the same total PPS$. So in the second ticket each segment will be worth less.
