Have you considered the DL 777 nonstop DTW-ICN? This would avoid ATL. Depending on when you travel, the DL 757 daily nonstop between NRT and ICN is being eliminated, with service provided instead by KE (or connections using Chinese carriers, hopefully for those able to take advantage of transit without visa in Beijing or Shanghai).
