On my last trip, AC broke the lock on my 27" Eminent hard case (deep scratch on metal - heavy impact)
Repair shop said they can't replace the lock and offer a few choices..
2 of the choices were 28" Samsonite Winfield 2 and 28" Samsonite Pursuit. Both looks about the same in quality and the shell is feel flimsy (thinner) than my Eminent.
Another option is 24" Delsey with dual lock (don't know the model) if I choose not to get zipper case. However I do prefer 27" case. They said they would offer 28" Delsey for $130 extra.
Any suggestions?
If the repair shop can't repair the damage then the bag is damaged beyond repair. If you don't like the choices the repair shop is giving you, go back to AC. If they are liable for the damage, they should make you good. (Note, I can't find AC contract of carriage online so it's possible they have a clause about some sort of "equivalent" replacement.)
