One Night In London with Kids -- What to Do?
The thread currently immediately under mine (London overnight with 11) emboldened me to ask a similar question. I did not want to thread hijack and post in that thread, but if a moderator wants to combine, that's ok and sorry for the trouble.
We arrive into T5 on a flight from Spain around 1530 on a Sunday. We leave the next day out of T3 around 1030. We are booked at the Sofitel, so were hoping to get through border formalities, drop off our bags at the Sofitel, and then take the HEX into London for the evening.
Can anyone recommend a good family option in that small amount of time with children? We would like to see a major site or something that will be memorable to them and quintessentially London (Mrs. lkar and I have been before). Not to be crass about it, but sort of an Eiffel tower or Gizah pyramid sort of evening adventure. It's a Sunday evening, and so I expect much will be closed, but it looks, for example, as though the London Eye is open until 2130. Is that a good option?
If possible to avoid excessive connections on the tube after arriving in Paddington, that would probably be a plus. Or if there are other transportation options, that's fine too. Really open to suggestions and thanks in advance.
