Asiana Flight #221
Depart JFK 1:00 PM
Arrive ICN 4:30 PM
Western Menu (lunch):
Korean Menu (lunch):
Pre-arrival Snack:
Asiana Bar:
Melon, Parma Ham, and Marinated Shrimp:
Poached Lobster & Salmon Gravlax:
Lentil Soup:
The soup was fine, but didn't come close to resembling any lentil soup I had ever tried. Also, Asiana's habit of serving soup tepid is disappointing.
Grilled Chicken Breast, Potato, Vegetables w/ Chicken Jus:
Fruit & Cheese Plate:
Raspberry Cake:
Ham, Cheese, and Pickles on a Croissant (mid-flight snack -- sorry for the poor quality pic):
Marinated Shrimp and Prosciutto:
Grilled Shrimp and Scallops:
Beef Brochette:
Fruit Tart:
I observed three general weaknesses in OZ food when I flew them last November:
1. Soup served tepid
2. Uninspired desserts
3. Small (though high quality) portion sizes
Number 1 is still an issue. The last two have improved greatly.
Food pics from my remaining three flights will be forthcoming later.
