I'm having trouble as well. I'm trying to book a round trip SFO->AMS in business. When I search airfrance.us, I see availability on my dates. When I search KVS, I see availability. When I search ExpertFlyer, I don't see any seats in O. When I search Delta.com, I see availability on my dates, but when I try to select my flight I get:
"We're sorry. One or more of the flights you selected just sold out. Please search again to view and select alternate flights."
I've spent some time on the line with some Delta reps and have escalated to a supervisor. They spent a ton of time with me and at some point put me on hold and called KLM. Finally, they came back and said that KLM had put me on a waiting list for the flight, and they put the details on a held reservation. They told me to call back in 48 hours.
Two questions:
1. What is this waiting list? I've never heard of a wait-list for an award ticket
2. What's wrong? Is the fare actually bookable? If I had miles with FlyingBlue, would I be able to book the flight? Are there any workarounds?
Thanks, FT community!
