I will admit that I have not flown to GVA before, but will be in May and just booked my flight (on BA because of LHR-GVA direct and almost 60CAD cheaper), so I could perhaps give a few indications of what I noticed (as I did look into *A).

In the interest of maxing miles but mining travel time and cnxs, and not knowing exactly which day of the week you'll be flying, I would do YOW-YYZ-FRA/MUC-GVA instead of YOW-LHR-FRA/MUC-GVA as LH flights from LHR to DE leave from T2, thus requiring you to go through FCC.

Of course, switching from T2 to T1 in YYZ may not exactly be that pleasant of an experience either. So if you don't want the hassle of switching terminals, do YOW-YUL-FRA-GVA.
