There are lots of good reasons for this to be the case. My opinion on the R "games" is twofold. One: there are no games. It all makes a great deal of sense. Two: #1 only makes sense if you stop looking at single cases and look at a given flight many times over a long period. Put another way: one is not a statistically significant sample size.
