Very nice TR so far! Thanks for posting it.
Fully agree with your praise for CX F, which I recently flew again. As part of the trip, checked out the new Wing F. Again, fully agree that the new cabanas are nicer than the old. OTOH, CX struck a good balance in that they're not SO nice that most folks will want to hang out in them unless exhausted, given how pleasant the open air parts of the rest of the Wing are reading, working, etc.
As for the Haven, I had no idea that they offered a la carte menus - no one mentioned it to me. More generally, like you I'm not wowed by the ambiance of the place...still has more of a cafeteria feel than a number of other airlines' F lounge eating areas..and find the buffet nothing special. (This is partly compensated for by the Wing's nice Noodle Bar in the business class section, which offers the nice light bite I'm often in the mood for between flights.) The Haven's shortcomings leave even the new CX F Wing a notch below the best F lounges I've been to - my favorite being the TG F lounge in BKK because of the complimentary one-hour massages - but still think that CX did a nice job in improving the lounge overall.
