Did online check-in on Delta iPad app. I remember seeing that upgrades had been requested. Tried to find upgrade list but couldn't. This should have been a red flag but I just figured they had made some design changes and I didn't know where to find it.
First flight was COS, which has no gate monitors. Asked GA if they were doing any upgrades and told all full. They didn't look at my record. In ATL there was no upgrade list rotating on monitor, AND they were offering upgrades to SRQ for $50. (Big red flag). This is where I was told that I had removed myself from the upgrade list! Of course they couldn't tell when this was done.
How I could do this is beyond me. I suppose somehow, some way, it's possible. I understand if your traveling with a coach companion you may want to do this, but it has to be so statistically rare that a confirmation click should be required.
In hindsight of course, I should have been more diligent. But I've done this drill hundreds of times and this is a first.
Just sharing so you might avoid a similar fate.
Interestingly the iphone app just updated today. One of the What's New bullets is:
Fixed an issue that prevented some customers from viewing the upgrade/standby list.
I wonder if they fixed more than that in that area of the app.
