Just finished a 3 night stay here last week for a conference - the convenience of the W to the Moscone Center cannot be overestimated.
As Gold, was recognized at check-in, moved up to a high floor, corner room.
Very nice room design, great work area setup.
One downside of the super high floor was actually being able to hear the elevator motors turning on late at night (seriously!)
Very energetic, positive service overall.
Had one quick meal in the Living Room Bar, great service, small portions.
An overlooked amenity has to be the table style Donkey Kong/Ms. Pacman machine in the lobby bar.
Interesting you say that. I really don't like how the desk is built into the wall. You're kind of shoved into the dark looking at a wall with no view of the city (why have a corner room then?) or the television. I like the W but if I'm going to spend a lot of time in my room working, I move across the street to the Westin for that very reason. Hey, I liked building forts as a kid; I just don't want to work in one.
