The NATO alphabet seems to confuse some people too. 'David' might cause less confusion.
D as in David would be what you'd hear on the police radio or on a 911 line questioning someone at my former PD. I don't know any PDs in my area that use the NATO alphabet. Sort of like that metric thing---don't think it's caught on here.
