I usually call and and explain how horribly complex my itinerary is and that no matter what I did, the website wouldn't allow it. At that point, reasonable agents will understand (they know how bad the website is) and will waive the phone booking fee. Just be sure to have your research done and have every leg with flight number, date, time, class, etc directly in front of you so you can spoon feed it to the agent (i.e. make them do as little work as possible to make them happy )
I'm still having trouble. I've spoke to 2 different agents and had them send it to the rate desk for ticketing after their computer denied them and then I also spoke to a supervisor who then was on the phone with the rate desk for almost an hour before coming back and denying me. She said that the open jaw needs to be at the destination or the orgin, which is why this booking appears to be invalid. Is that true? I cant decide if I should keep trying to book it tomorrow or go back to the drawing board.
