I have a 9 hour layover in dubai, between istanbul and sydney, I am flying economy and the staff at emirates asked me via email if I wanted to sign up for the connect hotel - which I did (I was corresponding with them about a different issue). I am under the impression it is a lesser hotel or room than the J or F people would get.
