Which is it, 35 min or 25 min? Even if legal you may beable to sweet talk your way to a change.
When you call back, emphasize that, legal or not, you would not have booked such a short connection, and that it was Delta that changed the connection time. You might even include that you have difficulty walking and doubt that you could get between the two flights in time.
