To each and everyone's own...but as I mentioned in other threads, I see very little use in priority check-in and boarding. Especially when OP's only travelling 1-2x YYZ-HKG a year.

I'm not 100% positive....but I think it's determined on the same month your AM's usually end. Ie. Asia Miles expiring March 2016. Then It's April 1 - March 31
