The DM says what the general public want to hear, which is why its circulation is more than quadruple some of the alternatives being mentioned here. Blame the British society for descending the way it has, or the politicians for promoting/allowing it to happen, but not BA for stocking the newspaper that the majority of its passengers want to read.
I would suggest that most people pick up the DM at T3/5 etc because it's either that or the Telegraph, plus it's free. You only have to look at a selection of the stories to see what tosh there is. I remember one article where the headline was
MOBILE PHONE ALMOST DOWNS QANTAS JET
Turns out if you bother to read the rest (which going by the comments most didn't) mobile phones were ruled out categorically. this isn't the only instance. Jan moir and Littlejohn are two of the most horrid bits of 'journalism' I have ever come across. It's just pandering to people's prejudices.
The papers are now moaning about the new rules. If they had kept their own house in order properly then they wouldn't have the new rules. They clearly aren't trustworthy to police themselves. They made their bed.....
