That happens at a number of airports, but more often in the US than in Asia.

The problem with the American accent, in my experience, is I have a tendency of bumping into American girls that use the word "like", and "whatever" sparingly. This can becoming annoying to me after a while.
But Americans girls aren't the only ones who use those terms sparingly, I will admit.
